“Universitas in Farmhouse” is an educational place focused on nature, culture, youth work, and sustainability. It demonstrates ecological cultivation methods and is a long-standing partner of international workcamps. The host also offers space for musicians.
Volunteers will continue the project GARDEN OF ENVIRONMENT – FIELDS for PLAYING AND LEARNING, creating creative and interactive stations about nature and sustainability. Tasks include gardening, construction, and landscape design using wood, rocks, and soil. Work is mostly outdoors and physical. A pond was built last year. Activities may include chopping firewood and maintaining a permaculture garden, with opportunities to harvest fruits. We are looking for 12 motivated young people interested in handicrafts and gardening.
Participants will learn permaculture principles, focusing on sustainable, low-resource gardening. Contributions about ecological or cultural projects from your country are welcome.
Afternoons, evenings, and weekends are free for sports, trips (e.g. to Freiberg), and swimming. On the last Saturday, there is a concert by HANS DIE GEIGE (Berlin, www.rockgeiger.de). Bring instruments if you like (drums and guitars available).
The Location is in Saxony, at the foot of the Erzgebirge, 35 km from Dresden and 15 km from Freiberg.
The Stay is in a seminar room; meals are cooked together.
