WWF began its activities in Armenia since 2002 and as of November 2006, WWF-Armenia has been registered as an official branch of WWF International as a part of WWF Caucasus Programme Office. The main priority areas of the organization is the development and strengthening of protected areas of Armenia, the conservation of threatened species, the conservation and restoration of ecosystems, mitigation and adaptaion to climate change, introduction of economic mechanisms for alternative livelihood for local communities in order to promote sustainable use of natural resources and to protect biodiversity and support and promotion of environmental awareness and education.
Main tasks of the volunteer will be: Assisting in Eco-Trail Mapping, Eco-Routes Management, Biodiversity Monitoring together with Caretakers, Data Coordination and Analysis from the Camera Traps. The Volunteer will work on a rotational basis with WWF-Armenia and its partner organisations: Gnishik Protected Landscape (Vayots Dzor region), Civil Voice NGO (Yerevan), Bezoar Foundation (Vayots Dzor), Martiros Charitable Foundation (Vayots Dzor).
